WE MADE IT! HAPPY WEEK ELEVEN/ FINAL WEEK OF SCHOOL (6/1-6/5)!!!!
For this final week of art we will be creating a non-traditional painting! We will be taking a seasoning/spice from our pantry and drawing with it using our hands and imaginations. This final project will give you the chance to draw anything you like all while using your hands as the tools. Watch the video to the left, create your own, and take a picture of your finished project for me! You absolutely rocked this distance learning with me and I loved seeing your work every week. Thank you for putting in effort and working so hard on creating masterpieces for me each week. It was an honor being your art teacher this year and I cannot wait to see you in September!!! --------------------------------------------------------- HELLO WEEK TEN ROCKSTARS (5/26-5/29)!
This week in art we will be learning about my favorite artist of all time! Frida Kahlo! We will be watching the YouTube video by clicking this link: youtu.be/wfbLR15Bh74 Then we will draw Frida! Today, the materials you need are some paper, a marker or pencil, and some crayons (colored pencils or markers). Have fun, be safe, and don’t forget to send me pictures of your completed portraits! --------------------------------------------------------- HELLO WEEK NINE ARTISTIC SUPERSTARS (5/18-5/21)!!
This week in art we are going to be creating Memorial Day lanterns together! If you do not have red or blue paper you can always color the white paper you have to be red and blue (with crayons or markers, whatever supplies you have at home). I want you to have fun with this project! Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Memorial Day 2020 occurs on Monday, May 25. --------------------------------------------------------- WELCOME TO WEEK EIGHT MY ART VIP’S (5/11-5/15)!
This week in art we will be expressing ourselves by drawing our own faces, then folding (accordion style) it to show all of the thoughts in our heads during this crazy quarantine time! Watch the video to the left, then send me a picture of your finished work!! You're doing great friends! KEEP IT UP! --------------------------------------------------------- ALOHA WEEK SEVEN ARTISTIC COMPOSERS (5/4-5/7)!
This week we will be attempting to make clay out of materials from home! Below is the list of materials you will need and the procedure. Have FUN! If you do not have the materials available to you do not worry about this project. I do not want you to have to make an extra trip to the store during this time... if you have the materials... continue on and never forget to send me a picture of your finished SENSATIONAL artwork :) Ingredients: · 2 cups flour · 1 cup salt · 2 tablespoons vegetable oil · 3/4 to 1 cup water ** food coloring optional Directions: 1. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. 2. Add the oil, and then slowly add the water and stir until you get a nice clay consistency. 3. If you want the dough to be different colors, separate the clay into portions and put them in a bowl. Add a couple of drops of food coloring to each portion and mix well with a spoon. Be prepared that the food coloring may stain your fingers while working with it! 4. Once completely mixed, make it into the desired shapes. 5. Bake in a 250* degree F oven for approximately one hour, though the timing will vary depending on how thick your creations are. Bake it long enough for the clay to harden but not start to burn. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- GREETINGS WEEK SIX ARTISANS! (4/27-5/1)

First of all, I hope your Spring Break was relaxing. This week you will be creating a Contour Self Portrait! It's fun and super abstract! Watch the video to the left, then create your own. Try your hardest to NOT look at your picture, or lift up your pencil. Color it in however you like and send me a picture of your completed work! This project is due Friday, April 24. Have fun friends I miss you! (Below is a picture of my finished work in case you want to see a completed example!) ---------------------------------------------------------
HAPPY WEEK FOUR ARTISTS! (4/06-4/19) Here’s the deal friends… it is OKAY to feel sad or lonely or scared during this time. What I want you to do with all of your emotions is create a piece of artwork in chalk outside that will make people happy! Everyone needs some light in their lives right now and it is our duty as FANTASTIC artists to spread some love and positivity. Go outside and use chalk to create a masterpiece. When people walk (or roll) by, they will have the chance to see your art and allow it to put a smile on their faces. I would like you to have create reigns! If you think your neighbors walking their dog want to see a piece of pizza dressed as a zombie princess, you go right ahead my friend. Have fun with this, be safe, stay healthy, and always use your art to spread love. *If you do not have chalk, or any sidewalk to draw on that is okay! I would like for you to still draw something positive to spread smiles on a piece of paper. Fill up your entire paper with objects, words, and colors… then I want you to GIVE it to someone who needs a reminder to keep being happy. You can mail it to a grandma, drop it off at a neighbors, but I want you to remember to social distance and be conscious to stay healthy. --------------------------------------------------------- HAPPY WEEK THREE! (3/30-4/03)
Can you believe we are already on week three of remote learning? I miss you all so much! This week we will be learning about an artist named Basquiat. I seriously miss you all SO MUCH! Most of you completed the worksheets I gave to your homeroom teachers, so I wanted to make sure to give you something fun and artsy to do at home! Keep sending me pictures of your work, and any other updates!!! This week you will be watching the video to your left, then clicking the link in the description of my video when you are done to follow along on a realistic drawing. While we are at home for the next two weeks, I will be giving your teachers a fun list of things for you to draw! You will be expected to complete one a week (a total of two or more if you're feeling ambitious). I know most of you do not have a ton of art supplies at home so I will keep these simple. If you would like to add extra details or go above and beyond I would just love it! You will simply turn your finished work in to me when we return to school.
In the meantime, watch this video and complete the packet by Friday 3/27! You can always reach me at my school email which is: [email protected] I am always available to answer your questions! Don't hesitate to reach out to me :) |
