Advanced Art (Year Long)
WE MADE IT! HAPPY WEEK ELEVEN/ FINAL WEEK OF SCHOOL (6/1-6/5)!!!!
For this final week of art we will be creating a non-traditional painting! We will be taking a seasoning/spice from our pantry and drawing with it using our hands and imaginations. This final project will give you the chance to draw anything you like all while using your hands as the tools. Watch the video to the right, create your own, and take a picture of your finished project for me! You absolutely rocked this distance learning with me and I loved seeing your work every week. Thank you for putting in effort and working so hard on creating masterpieces for me each week. It was an honor being your art teacher this year and I cannot wait to see you in September!!! ---------------------------------------------------------
HELLO WEEK TEN ROCKSTARS (5/26-5/29)! This week in art we will be marbling some paper! You will need the following materials: vegetable oil (olive oil also works), food coloring (liquid not gel), cardstock cut into 4 pieces, shallow dish or pan, small cups or bowls, and a fork STEP 1: Pour a super small amount of the vegetable oil into your cup or bowl, then add 10 drops of the food coloring. (I learned the less oil the better.) Stir this mixture vigorously with a fork so the color is dispersed throughout the oil. Repeat this step with as many colors you like. STEP 2: Pour enough water into your shallow pan or dish to cover the entire bottom. Use a spoon to transfer your vegetable oil and food coloring into the water. STEP 3: Lay your white cardstock on top of the water and lightly tap it. Lift your paper to reveal your marbled paper! This is when you can add more colors and repeat the process. If your water gets too muddy with colors, dump it and start fresh with a clean layer of water. STEP 4: Let the marble paper dry by laying it flat. The paper will be oily at first, but as it air dries, the oil will absorb into the cardstock. OPTIONAL: Once your paper is dry and marbled, use it to write a letter to someone or cut shapes out of it! **** if you do NOT have the materials required for this project, I would simply like for you to click on the art elective tab and follow along in creating your own personal Coat of Arms :) ---------------------------------------------------------

You will be using an everyday object and its shadow to create a new piece of art. Watch the youtube video to the right, get inspired, and create your own. (I also added a photograph of the Branch the troll I made with a shadow underneath these directions- I used the shadow of the succulent for his hair.) Don't forget to take a picture and send it over to me so I can put your grade into gradelink. You're a ROCKSTAR. This completed project is due on Friday, April 24th. ---------------------------------------------------------
HAPPY WEEK FOUR ARTISTS! (4/06-4/08) Here’s the deal friends… it is OKAY to feel sad or lonely or scared during this time. What I want you to do with all of your emotions is create a piece of artwork in chalk outside that will make people happy! Everyone needs some light in their lives right now and it is our duty as FANTASTIC artists to spread some love and positivity. Go outside and use chalk to create a masterpiece. When people walk (or roll) by, they will have the chance to see your art and allow it to put a smile on their faces. I would like you to have create reigns! If you think your neighbors walking their dog want to see a piece of pizza dressed as a zombie princess, you go right ahead my friend. Have fun with this, be safe, stay healthy, and always use your art to spread love. *If you do not have chalk, or any sidewalk to draw on that is okay! I would like for you to still draw something positive to spread smiles on a piece of paper. Fill up your entire paper with objects, words, and colors… then I want you to GIVE it to someone who needs a reminder to keep being happy. You can mail it to a grandma, drop it off at a neighbors, but I want you to remember to social distance and be conscious to stay healthy. DUE ANYTIME BETWEEN NOW AND 4/19! --------------------------------------------------------- |

Hey guys! Welcome to week three of remote learning. This week you guys will be cutting construction paper into smalls squares to create a piece of art that looks like a mosaic. I made you a time lapse video to see how I created mine! So watch the video, create your outline in pencil (then sharpie), cut your construction paper, and fill the entire page with the small squares. Make sure you outline your subject in black construction paper squares so that it is easier to see. Once you are done, send me a picture of your finished product! Your mosaic project is due Friday, April 03, 2020. An image of my completed project is below the youtube link to the right. Have fun with this!
--------------------------------------------------------- Hi friends! So now that we are all beginning to get used to learning from home, I wanted to give you all two projects to complete this week The first one is still the same, so by using the link below for "week two" you will complete the five different hand views. And then I would also love for you to create a flip book for me. So you will be sending me a photo/ video of your completed work to either of my emails so that I can put your grades into gradelink. The tutorial for the flip book is below, and you can always use the back of your phone with the flash on as a light source (or of course a window with sunlight). And no you do not have to follow his- it is just for you to see the directions, then you can create whatever kind of subject matter for your flip book you choose! All of these assignments will be due on Friday, March 27, 2020! If you need anything at all please do not hesitate to reach out. Stay happy, safe, and healthy! youtu.be/Un-BdBSOGKY -------------------------------------------------------- While we are at home for the next two weeks, I will be posting videos BELOW for you to follow along. You will receive one a week to complete (a total of two). I know most of you do not have a ton of art supplies at home so I will keep these simple.
