WE MADE IT! HAPPY WEEK ELEVEN/ FINAL WEEK OF SCHOOL (6/1-6/5)!!!!
For this final week of art we will marbling some paper! This week in art we will be marbling some paper! You will need the following materials: vegetable oil (baby oil may also work), food coloring (liquid not gel), cardstock cut into 4 pieces, shallow dish or pan, small cups or bowls, and a fork STEP 1: Pour a super small amount of the vegetable oil into your cup or bowl, then add 10 drops of the food coloring. (I learned the less oil the better.) Stir this mixture vigorously with a fork so the color is dispersed throughout the oil. Repeat this step with as many colors you like. STEP 2: Pour enough water into your shallow pan or dish to cover the entire bottom. Use a spoon to transfer your vegetable oil and food coloring into the water. STEP 3: Lay your white cardstock on top of the water and lightly tap it. Lift your paper to reveal your marbled paper! This is when you can add more colors and repeat the process. If your water gets too muddy with colors, dump it and start fresh with a clean layer of water. STEP 4: Let the marble paper dry by laying it flat. The paper will be oily at first, but as it air dries, the oil will absorb into the cardstock. OPTIONAL: Once your paper is dry and marbled, use it to write a letter to someone or cut shapes out of it! ***If you do NOT have the ingredients needed to complete this project, please click on the 3rd-5th tab and do the non-traditional painting instead :) ---------------------------------------------------------

This week we will be attempting to make clay out of materials from home! Below is the list of materials you will need and the procedure. Have FUN! If you do not have the materials available to you do not worry about this project. I do not want you to have to make an extra trip to the store during this time... if you have the materials... continue on and never forget to send me a picture of your finished SENSATIONAL artwork :) Ingredients: · 2 cups flour · 1 cup salt · 2 tablespoons vegetable oil · 3/4 to 1 cup water ** food coloring optional Directions: 1. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. 2. Add the oil, and then slowly add the water and stir until you get a nice clay consistency. 3. If you want the dough to be different colors, separate the clay into portions and put them in a bowl. Add a couple of drops of food coloring to each portion and mix well with a spoon. Be prepared that the food coloring may stain your fingers while working with it! 4. Once completely mixed, make it into the desired shapes. 5. Bake in a 250* degree F oven for approximately one hour, though the timing will vary depending on how thick your creations are. Bake it long enough for the clay to harden but not start to burn. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- GREETINGS WEEK SIX ARTISANS! (4/27-5/1)

MISS YOU TONS! youtu.be/eM_WCu7Pb5s --------------------------------------------------------- HAPPY WEEK FOUR ARTISTS! (4/06-4/19)
Here’s the deal friends… it is OKAY to feel sad or lonely or scared during this time. What I want you to do with all of your emotions is create a piece of artwork in chalk outside that will make people happy! Everyone needs some light in their lives right now and it is our duty as FANTASTIC artists to spread some love and positivity. Go outside and use chalk to create a masterpiece. When people walk (or roll) by, they will have the chance to see your art and allow it to put a smile on their faces. I would like you to have create reigns! If you think your neighbors walking their dog want to see a piece of pizza dressed as a zombie princess, you go right ahead my friend. Have fun with this, be safe, stay healthy, and always use your art to spread love. *If you do not have chalk, or any sidewalk to draw on that is okay! I would like for you to still draw something positive to spread smiles on a piece of paper. Fill up your entire paper with objects, words, and colors… then I want you to GIVE it to someone who needs a reminder to keep being happy. You can mail it to a grandma, drop it off at a neighbors, but I want you to remember to social distance and be conscious to stay healthy. --------------------------------------------------------- HAPPY WEEK THREE FRIENDS! While we are at home for the next two weeks, I will be giving your teachers a fun list of things for you to draw! You will be expected to complete one a week (a total of two or more if you're feeling ambitious). I know most of you do not have a ton of art supplies at home so I will keep these simple.
